The Yankees - Red Sox Game on Saturday

Wow, did you by chance see the Yankees - Red Sox game on Saturday? I only saw part of it, but I did see Doug Mientkiewicz' head at the wrong place at the wrong time. Ouch. Each time they played it on instant replay my heart just cringed. For those of you who didn't see it, Doug plays first base for the Yankees, and he attempted to field a one-hop bad throw from Derek Jeter. As he attempted to field the ball, his head crossed paths with Mike Lowell's hip at full force as he was running to first base. As soon as they hit, Doug went straight for the ground and his whole body went limp for a minute. You could tell when he came to he was slightly in "la-la" land. Tests on Saturday night revealed a mild concussion, a cervical sprain, and a fractured bone in his right wrist.

Geez, I wish him well.
