Can David Beckham take the heat?

There are invisible strings attached to his $250 million paycheck.

Mr. David Beckham has been called to save male professional soccer in the United States. I know that David has magical feet, but everyone should be questioning the strength of his shoulders at this point. Will he be able to take the heat? I don't know. It is going to take some marketing genious to pull this off. So far the marketing has been predictable, given the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Beckham have already posed for their racy photos and have been featured in a short reality television special spotlighting their journey to the United States.

Well, I hope they can sustain the momentum. Personally, I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for bringing David over to the states because this risky decision will empty a lot of pocketbooks if all doesn't go according to plan.
